Who we partner with
We participate in affiliate programs run by equipment brands and retailers, directly or through networks such as AvantLink, Awin, Impact and FlexOffers. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
How this affects our recommendations
Commission rates vary a lot between brands, from around 1% to 10%. We pick products on specs, warranty and what owners report, then link to wherever you can buy them. Some of our picks earn us little or nothing, and we include them anyway. What commissions never change is what we tell you: every pick lists the complaints real owners report and a "Skip it if" line telling you who shouldn't buy it.
We don't accept payment for placement, and brands don't review or approve our content before it's published.
How we research
We haven't tested every product hands-on, and we say so. We verify specifications, prices and warranty terms on each brand's own site, and we analyze owner reports from Reddit and retailer reviews, discounting anything that reads as promotional or sponsored.
